Saturday was both a relaxing and a stressful day. Lynne's bike would not start Friday night and a lady passing by said that her cousin owned a repair shop and might be able to help. Her cousin Chris drove to Beaumont, TX to pick up a part to repair her bike and get her back on the road. The bike was repaired and delivered by about 3 pm and by 4 pm, we were driving around Lakeshore Blvd admiring all their extensive ...
... our road trip following our planned route based around places that feature or are mentioned in True Blood! Maybe we will meet a vampire or two! Our 1st main stop was not a True Blood location however but Nottoway Plantation, which we reached along the i10 listening to classic American road-trip songs which we had pre-downloaded on Spotify. We met our camp hosts at the campground and there were about as typical southerners as you could be. They had a sandwich size ziploc of chewing tobacco that I'm pretty sure they finished in about an hour. They ...
After a light shower overnight (we stayed dry), today was absolutely perfect. We relaxed all day, doing our own little things. Sherry read her book on a float in the water, Debby laid on her lawn chair in the sun, and I went for a long walk exploring the campground. We had grilled pork chops (not squirrel) for dinner, with wild rice, and French cut green beans with sautéed onions and mushrooms. The bathhouse showers are nasty here (thank God for shower shoes) and tonight was ...
