TripAdvisor Reviews Pinel Beach St. Maarten/St. Martin

... little me.
The phone call came through early the following morning, “It's tomorrow,” the voice cheerily
chirped. And I don't know how I felt at that exact moment. Happy, elated, or just a little nervous. Perhaps a bit of all three to tell you the truth. So soon as well. So early the following morning we all set off to the French side airport close to Gran Case. Ready to begin what I thought would be rigorous the training for the jump.
... it has been brilliant so far. Lets just go with the flow so to speak. So after a short sail, we arrived at what could only be considered, a little bit of heaven dropped into the tranquil azure blue waters of the Caribbean. Tiny waves caressing the white beach. Only one word... WOWEEEE.
"OK," he said picking up a plastic bucket, "those who want to swim to the shore are welcome, I have to take the dinghy."
Odd, I thought? So leaping off the Cat, all our ...
... airplanes and the appeal. The runway is just a few meters away from the beach itself and the planes have to come in very low over the beach just before they land. They have several large planes landing each day and it is quite a site to see these beasts barely thirty feet above you as you stand on the beach looking up. We saw a couple of smaller planes coming in to land but also saw two large planes taking off. ...
... in the water since I could see. I don't know why actually seeing a shark before I'm chomped to bits actually makes me feel better, but somehow I do feel better when I can see what's going on around me. Anyway, obviously I did not get eaten by sharks.
The snorkeling here wasn't impressive, but the views from the beach were. It was a lot of fun to swim around in the warm water. The group we were with were made up of a bunch of couples so we got to talk to a few of them. ...
... and chips, with the obligatory compliment of beers for everyone. Oh yes! I’ve forgotten to tell you. The main sponsor was none other than a local brewery. And they made sure everyone of the contestants was going to be, how should I put it, inebriated; well oiled, or just plain drunk. Yes, out here, it’s always good to start a competition on a full stomach. There were four teams. Some dressed in costume
for the occasion. And none better than nuns ...
