... her job. She’s doing great though and we appreciate her efforts.

After supper Mom and Andy went to sit on the deck for a while and we went to the arcade. I eventually left the kids and Dan there and went to the casino for a try at some poker. My first hand seemed promising as I landed a flush and won three time what I bet, but in typical fashion it did not take me long to lose the $40 I was playing with.

Anyway, that’s about it for today. It’s ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica adelleg... were really keen for sales. We just bought some sunscreen and came back on board the ship. We all went back to the H2O zone and enjoyed the relatively empty pool area.

It was another incredibly hot day so it was very relaxing to just kick back and hang out by the pool. Now THIS is a holiday!!

After dinner we put the girls to bed and went watch the show.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica youngsinusa2009... 12 other peace corps volunteers. On Sunday we came back to Ochi and I have been staying with melissa the volunteer here. Now i am sitting with melissa and she is complaining about not having anything to write about in her blog. However, Melissa was just hit by a car in browns town last week and only remembers waking up with the babilon (babilon is what they call police). She had to get 6 stiches in her head and cat scans.
Alva, Jamaica phantom1212Ocho is an interesting city, divided by a straight line, on one side (from the center to the port), relatively safe area day and night, upscale boutique, restaurants and on the other side, the chaos and not so safe area. There are a few hundreds meters of beachfront.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica gratienWe arrived at Ocho Rios, Jamaica on Tuesday after two days at sea. The last two days at sea had been filled with good times and it had been smooth sailing. We looked out from our balcony and thought how beautiful the waters and port were. The weather was sunny with some clouds and the day would be pleasantly warm. We had planned a shore excursion of going on a zip-line through the ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica thetraveldog... at and the girl told me she'd pay me to keep it off! haha - thats a first! (I put it on anyhow). As we were feeling very sunburnt, we headed back to our hotel and chilled on the balcony overlooking the crystal clear waters, chatting to the local cook. Well Jamaicas traditional meal here is Chicken (just like everywhere else), but they have "Jerk Chicken" here, which is a ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica clintonb... Great service, friendly and highly entertaining.

One last thing. By the time trip has come to an end, you will have most likely already have come to the conclusion, that you don't want to leave. That's always a tough time for us, saying good bye to a lot of new and old friends, and not knowing when or if you'll be back. But if you are lucky enough, and there isn't a managers meeting going on at the time, several of the ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica caribbean_feverGreetings Friends and Family! It's hard to believe it's been almost three months since my last entry, but that's how life goes. Much has happened in those three months, marked by three things: my month at home, my research project, and preparing for life after Peace Corps. Beware! This is a long update... I returned to Wisconsin on December 20th, after almost a year away. Being home, surrounded by my family and the peace of the country was ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica jennipost... Corps, so I planned to move the first week in May. I already had a place picked out and I was so excited for May to arrive, and surprisingly, the months went quickly. I successfully and joyously moved on May 2nd. I am now living by myself, in a quaint one bedroom apartment. My good friend, Lee lives upstairs and another friend Mary lives close as well. The buildings are surrounded by a big garden containing fruit trees, flowering plants, and cacti, situated on top of a hill so ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica jennipostThis was a horrible nasty little place I hope to never see again. When you walk down the street, it is filthy and taxi drivers nag at you and then throw insults when you refuse to take a taxi. I Came. I Saw. I LEFT! One almost saving feature of this hideous place was swimming in the water, but even that turned south when I felt what I believe to be a sewer pipe under my feet.
