Well it is raining in Sudbury this morning. Not bad but I'll be puttin the top up. Makes for a cozy drive when packing gear on the rear rack. Looking forward to seeing an old college classmate in the Sault. Doug (no relation to the Doug I'm travelling with) figures we last saw each other in 1977.

The dogs got to play outside tonight until we couldn't stand the mosquito's anymore. Oh we found out that the peak time for the mosquito's is mid May to mid June...yikes! Just a little scratching going on....staying at a beautiful KOA park(a little pricey but nice).

Today we picked up the Trans-Canadian Highway, and I discovered that it's ...

... some ponds with bulrushes. Noticed a few white crosses by the roadside, as well as moose signposts warning you of driving after dark. The only animals we saw were dear marmots on the side of the road. Seeing we are travelling by so many lakes there are many roads leading off the cabins and camping sites where people can fish and hunt.

We also had a nice surprise when we got to Sault Ste. Marie. We checked into our hotel and then went down to the locks to see if any ships were coming through. We were here last year and there were so few ships going through – probably due to the economy – that we didn't get to see any. This year they were lined up! We saw ...
