Our fly-by visit of Albania
From Corfu we went to Albania, taking the ferry across to Saranda and heading up to the capital of Tirana. We had a lovely 4.30 start and thanks to the pink palace shuttle times we were at reception by 5.15am although didn't leave until 6.30am, but we did get to watch a dodgy western on TV in a smokey reception with a few of the last revellers from the night before. I was silently wishing that I had put a bit more effort into my appearance and wasn't quite so hungover and then Eliza came and fixed up my necklace which was looking as askew as I was feeling at the time. Day 121 : The New HNIC
... been painted over by the revitalised Tiranan's with a willy wonka eye for colour scheme and re-decorating. Buildings were purple and pink striped, yellow and blue concentric circles and all other kinds of insane and awesome combinations. The Albanians really did a great job of transformation here.
