After looking at a lot of very disappointing murano glass I found some at the back of the academia that I liked. I tracked the designer down to his murano studio where he is a master of lamp work, I ended up purchasing a good few pieces, I've always liked the gold foil beads and the chap does charming cat sculptures. ... until Napoleons time. Before we knew it we had to return to the ship. We were really weary so had a lie down. It's a formal night tonight but we can't decide whether to go or not. We just wanted to have a quick dip. ...

We had lunch (more pasta) and then headed back. We dropped JR back at the apartment to have a little rest and Loretta and I headed out for a mid afternoon aperitif; a Spritz. The common drink of Venice. I know you will find this hard to believe but it will not be coming back with us to ...

    Quick update

A travel blog entry by silk_travels4nz on Apr 21, 2013

20 hours flying and those that didn't avail themselves of chemical assistance to sleep have lost their sense of humour. Is this folly we ask? We are a couple of hours out from Rome. From there it's on to Venice. The thought of Venice picks me up and breakfast will help too. Singapore Air still does real food & it's nice. Watch this space. Later: waiting in Rome ...
