      ... places in Italy. Got the bus back into the bus station next to the train station and found a place for lunch. Walked the route on the northern side of the Grand Canal enjoying looking at the shops and activities along the way. Went up onto the Rialto Bridge built between 1588 and 1592, rather busy with tourists trying to get photos of themselves on it.       Our house guests had to return to LGW today so we had a last McDonald's lunch (Chris needs his fix – well that’s my version) and we took a drive into Milan getting used to the standard of driving and trying to remain aloof from it.       A couple of croissants for breakfast and a cafe latte to die for and we were on our way. First a waterbus to St Marks square to see the bridge of sighs, st marks church and a lady singing on a gondola.
