... re staying in a nice posh chalet (one of the ones our company rents out) and just practicing the cooking etc. We're living with all the people who are going to be in working in our resort. There's only 6 of us - another couple and two single girls. also one resort manager.

... pictures and updating my blog. The grading system here is tough compared to what I'm used to but I will adjust. The company I am consulting for is interested in expanding to the U.S. and has us conducting market research for key demographics. Its a nice change of pace from school work, there's little structure and its almost entirely self regulating. Its a welcomed increase of freedom as well as responsibility.

head to the Sports Bistro and have a beer and see how my appetite
was. The bar was like the local Cheers bar as many groups of friends
were hanging out. One thing I have noticed in Chamonix, there are
many dogs, and perhaps more Golden Retrievers than I have seen in one
location in Europe. It is also not unusual to see the dogs with
their owners in bars and restaurants and the Sports Bistro was no

over 15,000 feet. It is a very impressive sight from the town and
once I arrived in the town center, climbers and hikers were arriving
from up above as the day was ending. It was about 60 degrees and I
sat out and had a beer before heading back to the hotel to read up on
the restaurant recommendations. I ended up at a restaurant about a
block from the hotel and had a nice meal of pork, mushrooms and
fries. Back to the room as the first day jet lag was ...

It's a driving day today..as we have decided to cross Switzerland just over the border to Chamonix, Mont Blanc in France. We got up for breakfast, heading down at 9.30am, breakfast was average..didn't really love the hotel as the ladys cleaning the rooms were banging around at all hours..and the room was too hot without the windows (and mossies!) open. We did a bit of research when we finally got some internet at breakfast and decided that we were heading towards Zurich, so at around ...

... poorly marked. Half the streets in Europe are so narrow anyways; they all look like one ways. So this car pulls up behind up and blocks us in, sweet, it’s the cops. They tell us we went up a one way.... So we honestly tell them it was a mistake and we're trying to turn around. Then they ask us where we are coming from and how much have we had to drink? Here we go... We had 1 big bottle of beer each 2 hours ago, then split ...

... from 1250 to 2360 meters in the morning, and then walked all the way back down to Chamonix. Wonderful views, but we were shattered in the evening, so we treated ourselves to a fondue savoyarde, mmmhhh!!

The next day was slightly shorter, but we still walked for 5 hours. We even did a bit of 'trail running' when we realised we were half way up the mountain and had a train to catch to get back to Geneva!!

... and showed us to a room upstairs where we could get changed etc as the previous group of skiers hadn't yet departed. Obviously as this was day 1 of our holiday everyone was as eager as a Hellraisers on new Harleys, we (and I use the term "we" loosely as I was rather uncertain of my abilities as a snowboarder on the slopes) headed out to hire our kit, and get our ski passes sorted out. ... for skiing in at the end of the day. We opened the door and were confronted with a dinghy studio... with no double bed. Two twins, obstinately split, and a bunk bed. We decided to haul the mattresses off the bunks and put them between the twins, which were also kind of our living room couch. After doing a bit of nesting, it was time to go out for dinner. this run's length depends on how much snow they get. but it took my group about half the day.
I loved it. I stayed in a very confortable motel as well. everything was great.
Definately do it.
