... in terms of getting free wine in the chalet so far so got pretty drunk - went out to a bar which had opened up specially for us lot and got pretty hammered. it closed at 12 so went back to the chalet and finished off the rest of the wine.

did our food hygiene level 2 today, sitting in a bar now having a few beers, still snowing a little bit. got cleaning training tomorrow...... hmmm....

anyway, enough for now - will try and update towards the end ...

... surrounding the lake and its many
villages that we passed along the way. We arrived at one spot on the
lake and the commentary indicated this was the sunny spot on the lake
and the little village had the most expensive real estate in France,
even more so than Nice and the south of France. Don't know whether
to believe it but that is what we were told. Off the boat, sat
outside and had a couple of beers and then back to the room to catch
up.

Y s'est tellement passé de chose en 5-6 semaines, j'ai tellement oublié de vous raconté des trucs, c'est dommages, mais au moins sa fera des ptites choses d'extra a raconté a mon retour, comme sa vous saurez pas toute exactement ce qui c'est passé, héhé!!

We sadly left Chamonix and vowed to return there in the winter, and drove to Annecy. Annecy was kind of a repeat of Prague, beautiful old city, on the water, with canals... we were kind of sick of that scene by then. They are applying to have the 2018 Olympics there, with the ski events at Mont Blanc. It would be a nice venue for sure.

... après un 2eme jour de 9 heures de marche. Heureusement, au refuge nous avons retrouvé une très bonne cuisine Italienne, dans une décor irréel, tous les murs étant tapissés de toutes sorte de choses, un vrai chni composé de photos, de drapeaux, d'objets oubliés par les randonneurs, etc... ah ces Italiens !!

J 3/ Gîte de Nant-Borrant - col des Fours - Les Chapieux

Mardi 1 Septembre, départ a 7 heures dans le matin frais, pour une montée progressive au célèbre col du Bonhomme (2 329 m) qui annonce un superbe passage au sud du massif. ... a stall or enter one of the many 'Caves' for a degustation, otherwise known as a free tasting. The degustations admittedly are smallish but very frequent. For a large glassfull best see the lady dispensing straight from the barrel, several of which are on a dray pulled by two magnificent shire horses.
Sunday, more of the same and back down in the evening for the closing of the fete by a candlelit procession around the town.
