... all up the Maurienne valley has been cloudy and rainy – and snowy higher up – all day. Generally grim in other words. Here is actually sunny, albeit a bit chilly.

The trip down the other side of Lake Garda was nerve-racking. Many narrow tunnels where we seemed to be scraping the sides at times. Crazy drivers trying to pass in the tunnels. Out of the tunnels the scenery was fantastic but at times I was too nervous to enjoy it as it was gut clenching on the narrow road. Lucky I have a good driver who doesn't seem to get fazed out by the daily challenges he faces on the road. We hit the motor way as we decided that we'd put in a good leg ...
