... Sforzesco for a brief walk around - it is huge and beautifully built with rounded brick turrets and huge courtyards. We decided not to catch the metro but walk through the city, it is more interesting that way. We then visited the Duomo for an inside look. We took the audio tour, visited the crypt and found a cardinal Alfredo Ildefonso Schuster who was honoured for his contributions. He might be related! ... so we walk to the next stop to fill in time. We spend 90 minutes riding around on the various routes when we get to a shopping district, so we get off. Scored a new pair of shoes for Richard and a new jacket for Julie, unfortunately the other top she wanted didn't fit. By now it is lunchtime/beertime so we do the Milanese thing and sit out on the sidewalk have lunch and check out all the people walking past.

Lake Como in the Rain

... it, so they recommended a cafe further along the lakeside. 20 minutes walk later, we were sitting there, drinking our coffees and cokes, and watching the swans and ducks on the lake. A short walk further to the next ferry stop - and the heavens opened again, only this time it was torrential. Once on the ferry we could barely see the shore!

... was so lovely! We each got a chicken sandwich meal with a drink and fruit. As it was a hot day already he gave us freshly frozen fruit purée of pineapple and cantaloupe (so amazing!).
