    My guide book told me that there was a train that would take me all the way to the coast, but trying to find out how to buy tickets online proved to be a dead-end. I even asked travel agencies how to buy tickets and they didn’t even know the trains existed. This was not a good start.

    ... so went for a late lunch at a trendy mall near where Gert works. There was a stunning arrangement of King Proteas and some interesting statues (donkeys) that the children are able to play in – one has water fountains around it and the kids apparently love to frolic in it the summer.
