... hang out with native Spanish speakers instead of with the Americans (who only want to speak English most of the time). My goal is to be able to speak Spanish dramatically better by the time I leave, and I believe this is the way to achieve that goal. Speaking Spanish inside the classroom but English in my free time will get me no where. This is exactly what our teacher, Lourdes, has told us since day 1 and I am so glad I finally took her advice.

Next, after lunch we drove to our last destination - Comillas. This part of our trip was definitely the coolest part. We got to see an old palace called la Castilla de sobrellano, which was a neogothical styled home with hints of modernism in the decor. After this, we got to see the coolest part of all - a work of Antoni Gaudí! This architect is famous in Barcelona (and unfortunately we won't have time on our trip to go there), so ...

Since they have officially closed down the real caves due to the wearing down of the art from hundreds of thousands of tourists, the replica would have to do. And it was great!

... candy store with Kindereggs and Chupa Chups (our favorite Spanish candies). We then sat by the harbor for a while and watched all the sailboats in the bay. It was nice to finally explore the town we will be staying in for the next three weeks- and it's such a beautiful quaint little European town. There was even a festival going on downtown today ...

... islands. You start by walking by the docks and then you hit a beach, followed by a park, then more beaches, and another park. By the time I walked along the city coastline, and then around the first park, I was pretty tired. I would have stopped here and gone back to the apartment, but Jacquelien sent me a photo that was in a park, and I figured it had to be in the next park along, so I had to go check it out.
