... We then made our way back to Monza train station and after saying goodbye to Anita and Michel, we caught the train for 2.5hrs to Tirano. Tirano is 10mins away from Brusio which is where my Great Uncle Roberto and Great Aunty Ilaria live- we stayed with them for 3 nights. Arianna their daughter (mum's cousin), picked us up- she's so sweet, apparently she'd come an hour early because she was so excited! I was super excited to see her ...

... church and during summer at mass, you could smell the rotting flesh of the bodies. The town then decided to dig up the bodies, keep the skulls and cremate the bodies to get rid of the smell! We then walked back to Dario and Claudia's house where Claudia had cooked us a massive lunch! We had homemade chicken cordon bleu with potatoes, carrots and onions. After Dario had his afternoon nap, we drove up to the family mountain house. There wasn't much snow ...

... Back to St Moritz, we had a walk around the small township ..Didn't see anyone famous, but lots of expensive looking shops... Luckily it was Christmas Day and shops were closed... Except a cafe or two where we had lunch. Then walked back to the hotel via the lake... Just gorgeous. Hard to believe that the lake is usually half frozen at this time of year, and fully frozen by January, when they hold the White Turf Day, and ride horses on the frozen ...

... The ride up the mountain to St Moritz was amazing, especially driving thru the pass just as the sun was going down.. Hard to take photos out of the bus window, but I tried to capture the beauty.. Looking forward to seeing St Moritz in daylight... Snow on the streets, but not snowing and not expected to do so for a few days... Too bad we are leaving on Boxing Day... Christmas Eve dinner tonight was a buffet... And yummy ... Will need to walk it off tomorrow.... ...

... we headed into St Moritz for some sight seeing. The streets are immaculately clean and no cars parked by the side of the roads. All cars park in a main car park and shoppers catch the escalators up to the town to shop. The shops are all very expensive. I really liked a scarf in one shop but was nearly knocked over when we converted the price to $670!!!!! It was cashmere but it was just a scarf!!! ...
