... is alive. One of the other neat things we see are caves dug out of the rock on the roadway leading up to the village. These caves are used to store stuff or are workspaces for mechanics, wood workers and even serve as a store for local wines. These people are very ingenious when it comes to their space utilization. ... 2 week holiday that began in Rome and ended in Milan with stops in the Amalfi coast, Naples, Pisa, and Cinque Terre. I can honestly say Elba was my favorite of the lot given the perfect combination of food, weather, people, and relaxation. I eventually got back on the road again just as the sun was setting. I’m not too keen on driving in the dark, purely because the lights on Lily aren’t the greatest, so it was now a race to Tivoli. I got there as it was getting really dark, and just didn’t feel the love for the place! I found the stop, and there were no other campers in the car park, so I decided the best thing was to keep moving. The next stop was another hour ...

Day 264 2 hrs, 4.3 kms I figure I'll make one more stop before my next big destination of Livorno. So I hop off the train in the town of San Vicenzo and find... another beach town. This one does have bit more density to it, with a boardwalk and pedestrian street near the sea, and residential neighborhood up into the hills--probably mostly summer homes... Let's move ...
