Took a couple videos-pictures really couldn't capture it. Shows each location on the grounds after it was used/when empty. We got there and hung in the front lawn, then moved to the courtyard and back lawn for appetizers. They were carving prosciutto for us... I have found the perfect wine. More later. For now I have to do something about the chlorine in my hair from the late night dip. Opera in Verona tonight. Kisses from Italy.xx Ps. Judd, there was a pedicure incident. ...

It wasn't really a birthday week, but as our time in Italia was nearing its end and we had our last Verona visitors, it did seem a little like a week reprising our time in this great city. Bob and Linda arrived on the 29th August, and as you no doubt have guessed, Ernesto Tours had planned a nice little 4 days leading up to il compleanno d'Ernesto on September 1st (the day after Van Morrison turned 69).

There was sightseeing, Madama Butterfly at the Arena. great food and ...

On Saturday morning it was rainy and miserable in Verona so we decided to go for a drive. The Lonely Planet suggested tiny Lago di Ledro was worth checking, so again we headed up the A22 to the top of Lago di Garda, and then about 20 kilometres east to Ledro. It's a very small mountain lake - less than 3 kilometres long and perhaps a kilometre across at its widest. What a great spot for a picnic looking ...

Today was the start of a road trip covering around 700km in 2 days.

The first step was Turin to Sant'agata Bolognese outside Modena, where we visited the Lamborghini headquarters. Unfortunately the factory tours are currently suspended while the production line is re-tooled for a new model, but the museum was un-affected.

Lamborghini's have been my favourite supercar since the first time I laid eyes on a Countach in ...

We left Milan around 9:30 in order to take a pot stop in Verona before finishing the journey to Venice. We started off just trying to find more than a bus station map, headed towards the tourist information station. It ended up being very far into the city and led us to one of the places Vicky had planned for us to go to, Piazza Bra. Finally, a city that understands what a park/garden should look like! This plaza, lined with shops, restaurants, the old ...
