... stop was the amphitheater a truly spectacular sight where they still perform opera and ballet. They really built things to last here!!! Final stop in Verona was the Giardino Giusti gardens which were created at the end of the 15th century and from the top offer a beautiful panorama of Verona. All in all I think Verona has been the place I have enjoyed the most in Italy. Off to Switzerland ...

This is the last leg of our Italian adventure. Left Venice this morning by water taxi from our hotel to the train station. After a short train journey arrived in Verona. ... The Arena is a Roman amphitheater built in the 1st century completed in 30 AD. It's the third largest in Italy, the size and complexity of the structure made it an important predecessor in planning the Colosseum in Rome which began construction in 80 AD. ... going to spend another minute there so started heading for the exit gate.

There were Taxis waiting just outside the gate, so I approached the first one in the rank and asked the driver how much it would cost for the trip to the rail station in Desenzano. He indicated €25 which seemed a bit pricey, but at that point I wasn’t in the mood to negotiate so I said “let’s go”. I decided to take the train back to Peschiera as I wanted to ...

      With a short mileage to
cover today, we would make the most of it and visit Verona. Our fist
stop was a Harley Davidson dealer on the outskirts of the town. It
was a pretty big dealership with plenty of Harley branded bits –
not just bikes but barbecues, chairs and all sorts of expensive stuff
for the enthusiast. It began to rain a bit as we rode away into the
city, which was busy but not manic. We managed to find a motorcycle
      parking ...
