... and met by Fabio who was most helpful. We are back from the lake but up very high so have great views down to the lake and across to the snow capped mountains.
Began the morning by walking along the waterfront to Cernobbio (suburb)and checked out many a glamorous villa high on the hill overlooking the Lake. Called in to a local trattoria which clearly feeds all the local builders so they were far from interested in us being in ...

      Not so glamorous Bergamo

Leaving Milano, we started the day with Bergamo which is an ancient town about 40 km east of Milan we've been hearing a lot about. I have to admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me setting my expectation too high.

We knew that autumn had to arrive at some point and that was our second day in Milan. Rain, not too hard but pretty constant for the day. It didn't matter too much as we headed to Storza Castle and the museums inside until they threw us out at lunch time. It didn't matter that the admission was for the whole day and there was ...

Milano We Love You (& Your Trams)

... number 1 or 19. The 19 came along, so we rushed forward to get on, only for Ness to exclaim 'wait Jess it doesn't have a sign to see the stops'. I don't know why, but in the flurry of getting on and all the joking about it, we just collapsed into a fit of uncontrollable laughter - it just sounded so ridiculous, and I just found it so hilarious that Ness was still able to remain practical despite the moment of hysterical chaos.

The next tram came which we got on, and despite ...
