... up and relaxed a bit before grabbing the free Sunday aperitif in the lounge (Spumontee) while the kids journaled and wrote postcards. We then moved to our assigned table in the dining room for dinner-- royal consume (kids and me) and potato dumplings with tomato butter (Michael), salad, cheese and bread, then veal shoulder (grown ups), fish (boys) and eggplant (Madelyn) followed by white chocolate mousse for dessert. ... with breakfast, are included in the price of the room. We started with a salad/fruit/cheese bar where we sliced our own tomatoes with a funny gadget and had delicious house dressing. The we had the choice of potato ravioli stuffed with shrimp (all the Ms ate this), tomato soup (Brady) or carrot/orange juice (???). My scratchy throat led me to ordering this; I know Kirstin and Andrea would be ordering this uber healthy treat with me had they been here!! Then ...

We took breakfast in the throne room - as you do. We are getting a bit sick of cheese and ham but still eating it. We were sad to leave our royal palace. We had gotten used to the regal atmosphere. This was a treat stay for us. We booked a taxi and went for one last stoll before travelling. We enjoyed our garden and of course took more castle photos before getting into the taxi to travel to Trento to catch ...

... We settled into bed, Sue earlier than Richard who was booking tickets for our next 2 train rides - Trento to Milan and then Milan to Cinque Terre. It is the busy summer season so there were quite a few seats already sold out. In the middle of the night the storm hit, and what a storm! Hail pelted the windows and the wind roared around the castle. We felt very safe with 3 foot wide stone walls. We feel the house move and windows rattle at home with winds like this but this place was rock ...

... white is used to appear there - the Sala del trono (Throne Room), and the Chapel of St. Andrew on the first floor. The five rooms on the second floor and the garden are used as exhibition venues. You can imagine that our cameras really got a work out as soon as we arrived. We were delighted to see the other side of the Dolomites to yesterday's ride around from our room.
