      Fantastic start to this morning we even made it down in time for breakfast .... off we go again on our next adventure .... Think our legs are rested up from the other days hiking.

      Kings Canyon is about 1hrs drive from our hotel so not so bad. A spectacular drive up 6,000 ft to the entrance.

      Our flight from Frankfurt Germany to San Francisco, was delayed because of snow. As we were in the airport it began to snow. We still boarded the plane, the pilot announced that because of the snow we would be waiting our turn to have the wings de-iced, since there were other planes having the same thing being done we would take off as soon as they had finished.       ... or carpet had faded or were worn, the Historical Society had done an excellent job of having reproductions made. Overall, the presentation of this piece of history compared favorably with that of much grander (and much more expensive tours!) of places like the Vanderbilt Mansion, or Scotty's Castle! Certainly worth taking an hour to check it out!

      ... road in the dark. There are very few towns in this area. We stopped for dinner at a little BBQ place called Bodie Mike's, delicious food. No vacancy signs were illuminating the few lodging spots in that town so we loaded up and drove on. Luckily twenty miles ahead, we found a place with a room available, Willow Spring Motel and RV park. The owner greeted us and we felt right at home. The property had been in her family for years.
