... an understatement--Tisha already is a musician. She's made it to the finals at a Caribbean singing contest, has performed at various events and even has a manager. "I got a scholarship to a music school in Florida" she tells me. "But unfortunately I don't have the resources for the trip--so I might have to turn it down.... But I'm not going to give up, I'm just going to keep trying" I'm inspired by her energy and optimism. ...

... Kes some great recommendations for Venezuela and also a few pointers for Trinidad. Once we arrived in Trinidad at about 8ish, we were sniffed 5 times by a very overexcited sniffer dog and then searched. Kes did well to hide the apricots and tomatoes we accidentally brought in. Then I was asked numerous questions about who we were staying with, her job, her daughter's job etc. Apparently saying "I don't know" is just about ok. ...

        Peter writes …

I am writing this update as we sit at anchor in a small bay on the island of Chacachacare just off of Trinidad.

The past few weeks have been a mixed bag for both of us. We launched the boat only to find that the anchor windlass burnt out as we dropped the anchor for the first time. (It caused a bit of panic until we found a buoy.) It took two weeks or more to get a replacement and then install it. We also had to wait ...
