It allowed us to find a good spot to watch the parade. After listening to the dignitaries speeches it began. A procession of the most amazing, incredible tribal costumes and bands. Trucks with drums beating, whole tribal families dressing in identical material and the locals dancing reggae style on ...

We had a very pleasant reception at St. Andrews. Staff members Raquel and Hannah had prepared a very welcome luncheon for us, served in the dining room of our old house. The house has been converted to an administrative centre for what the staff was proud to report was now a degree granting institution, having just recently being accredited as such.

      So Scared of Snakes!

... uneasy about snakes. The rocks were slippery and covered in oil bird poop. We climbed down into the cave and those who had strong headlamps (not me) shone their lights on the wall and we watched the birds flutter about in a flustered manner squawking, clucking and probably ********. It was a pretty cool experience, but stressed me out a bit too much. I hadn't realized how strong my phobia of snakes was, but being in this place made it about 500 times worse.

... 1 I look to my right and see a little beach and stand there for a few minutes admiring the view before i hail another mini bus.

Back in Port of Spain, I walk along the waterfront to an area called the Breakfast Shed. That's right, it serves breakfast and lunch and seeing as it was around 11am I had myself some macaroni pie. It was fine, not great but cheap. The sister at the guesthouse told me where to catch a mini bus from in order ...

      2) A second FETE. Not as huge as the Fatima FETE, but really enjoyable. We enjoyed good beverages, food, dance, and liming. There were 2 pan bands (Playboyz and Harvard's) and also a couple of live performances from local artists. They have music in the background and just sing over it. No band. Just a backing track. He was quite enjoyable.
