    6 September All went well on the crossing from Naples. Kids slept well and nobody fell out of their bunks. Very early start, though, as the ferry docked at 6.30am. Gaetano was there to greet us and after I squeezed all our bags into his little Alfa (with the stroller across the laps in the back seat) he drove us through the bedlam of early Saturday traffic in Palermo.
