... island maybe a mile southwest of Guam thats almost uninhabited. The currents underwater were pretty strong but it made the dives so much cooler! The first dive was along the reef ridge on the east side and the second was on the west. For both dives you barely had to swim because the current was so strong so you could litterally just kick it and float on down the reef. Because not a lot of divers make it out here and fisherman are rare there was a ...

So if anyone wants to know what I want for christmas.... haha
Shortly after the dive I had to go back and crash to be able to prepare for a mission going out early Sunday morning. After waking up in the middle of ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... and working out in other ways again!
So this weekend I signed up again to finish my Scuba Certification. I had previously taken the classroom and book portion of the course but sprained my wrist the day before we were supposed to start our dives so i just jumped into a class that was ready to start their dives this weekend. The schedule consisted of 5 confined water dives ( very shallow (9 ft) in a closed off area on the beach) and 4 open water dives in the pacific over a ...

And the best part is Harriet has to go down one size. Yes after forty plus days on ship, she needs to by a smaller size. A magic moment has just occurred. Tuam Bay, Guam wildexplorerDear students. I do not have access to the internet so feel free to email me your comments at condor@hakuho.jamstec.go.jp Guam which is a US territory was the point of departure from our expedition. It is a beautiful island. Guam is part of the active Marianna volcanic arc (forearc)... it will make more sense once we discuss convergent boundaries. The exciting part is the fact the Marianna trench is the ...
Tuam Bay, Guam wildexplorerGuam is a very nifty place if you've got the money to get there. Having been to Hawaii as well in the past year, I thought Guam was much more friendly and much better for "out of the way" travelers like myself. I don't like tourism that much and Hawaii was built for them. Guam, on the other hand, still has an enormous amount of local culture, despite the gigantic kmart they've built in Tumon and the strip (which caters to Japanese tourists primarily). Let's start ...
Guam, Guam crazystrangeThank God I finally made it to Guam. Let me recap a little bit. I never really counted how many countries I've been to but one day a friend asked so I did. It turned out I went to 49 already. Knowing that plus the fact that I would turn 25 soon, I thought it would be cool to make it 50. I looked at my miles on Asia Miles and it would expire pretty soon too so I gotta use them. I only had 2500oish miles and that's only enough to fly from Bangkok to Hong ...
Guam, Guam thelittlevoice... rate is if your great-great grand parents, parents were born in Guam, so don't ask. I didn't quite figure out what made you just a plane local, but the tourist rate isn't that bad. Things I recommend: Deep fried Twinkies, try the sea food, and eat at the mom & pop joints rather than the restaurant chains you are used to. Don't be rude, and if your are going to hurl from all the booze you tried to drink, please get off of the damn buss! Transportation ...
