Taxi wouldn't drive to kata beach without accommodation booked so stopped off to find some where. Found hotel called the Patong Gallery for 1300 bht the night. Nice hotel, fairly central. Left early to phuket town to find Phuket backpackers, central, basic and comfy. Day spent touring around the town. Saw many temples and queen Sirkits 70th birthday preside of gardens and large golden dragon.
Upon showing up a day early for our reservations we knew they would be ready for us the next day. But once we arrived to check in the told us that had giving all the supreme rooms away and that we would be upgraded to the Deluxe! Nice.....The perfect two days of unwinding at the resort...we finally had a good nights rest. In the evenings we would …

As we drove past sex shops and Irish pubs, all I could think was 'where the bloody hell have you brought us too Nath you plonker' but we kept driving. We started to wind past green landscapes and small shrines and ...

It has all the features and amenities required, it was comparatively inexpensive and possessed a prime beach location in close proximity to popular nightspot locations Kata, Karon & Patong. Cheers Phuket and roll on ...
... and I spent most of the day reading my book; heaven!!!
For dinner we wanted to try one of the beachfront restaurants, so after a quick look on Tripadvisor (what would we do without the internet?!), we popped down to Octopus - it is unbelievable that you can get two beers, an entree, two mains and two desserts for $40 NZD, and the food is sooo good! We sat and watched the sunset (and the multiple local dogs running around on the beach), and it was lovely.
