Western Union: Go fuck yourselves

... explain as I need to.
I woke up at 8.30 and tried to ring three different scuba course companies. None of them answered so I went for a walk. I found a tour booking place just around the corner with a lovely older lady in there, and she sorted me out with a VIP ticket to the kickboxing tonight, a taxi there and back, and a hotel pickup to go for my scuba lessons tomoz. This cost about $200 all up and left me with around about $50 AUD. Then I went for breakfast, which was glorious ...

... to the zen-like calm.

With a wide range of treatments to choose, two hours fly so fast - it was so wonderful to just lie down and have someone to relieve the stress. Their signature are Rekki massage - Crystal and Lomi Lomi - Kakui Nut.

The staff is friendly and helpful - from the reception desk to the cleaners. And that's help the spa here is second to none.

Phuket!

... isn't full of strippers or ladyboys, a bit seedy! After spending a couple of nights here the novelty had worn off, so we packed our bags, jumped in a taxi and headed to Kata Beach. Kata Beach is quieter and more secluded than Patong. It has a gorgous beach with huge waves, there were lots of people surfing which was pretty cool! There are so many lovely seafood restaurants.... the prawns here are the size of lobsters...yummy! On our last day in Phuket ...

Nearly kicked the bucket!

... nice simple but stylish rooms, a DVD library and lovely staff. We enjoyed our short introduction to Thailand as Phuket is less sterile that we had imagined and seems to have a little something for everybody. It is easy to see why it is such a popular place. We only stayed 2 nights as we plan to stay 3 weeks on the island of Ko Lanta where we hope to chill out and do some future planning to help prepare for our return to normal life.

Snorkelling, Climbing and ponchos

... it reacts to movement and it was like holding a sparkler underwater! We then had to get from the sea to the boat without a ladder, i can't lift myself up using my arms, my legs have all the strength (ish) so I had to be helped up and nearly fell forward and landed on my head, but thankfully no one laughed. We then realised that the boat crew hadn't transfered our flip flops from the broken boat onto the new one..so we had to walk home through the jungle on a sharp stone ...

Blisters and Bruises

... Its Sunday right now..and the bruising hasn't gone away yet..actually..yesterday..it got really purple...the trainers wouldn't let me spar yesterday because they didn't want me getting hit in that area anymore. Also throw in a slightly sprained left wrist..and some sort of injury to my right shoulder..and there you have it..thats where I'm at now.. All injuries aside though..I'm starting to feel good again. The training sessions are getting easier..and I ...

Sun, Sang Som and Partying in Patong.

... Today was our first day of teacher practise. It went really well. I was last so the kids were a bit restless, but I think I did ok and I got good feedback. It was a good class to start with as they were around 10 years old and had relatively good English. Got teaching practise all this week and then that's me finished. I still don't know where my school is so I'm not going to go travelling in Cambodia and Laos ...

Phuket, a rainy stay

... the storm while on the other side it's sunny and clear. Pretty neat. Following that we went home, got ready, got an amazing seafood dinner for something around 6 dollars with calamari, spaghetti with seafood, etc. Then cam home, passed out for an hour or so while Dominique who wasn't tired started drinking a bit (oh did she regret that later). Once we woke up and after 1 or 2 mix drinks we went out for the most unexpected kind of partying so far. The nightlife here consists of tons and ...

Phuet - Part 2

... tsunami hitting Dec. 26th 2004. Much has been rebuilt and the buildings that were right on the beach have been replaced by a park. Very nice but very busy too! Almost as soon as we got off the bus we were approached by two young Europeans (one sede, one brit) looking to earn some beer money by getting us to attend a presentation. I'm guessing it was to sell time sharing at a refurbished hotel across the road. Very ...
