Phu Quy Hotel Nha Trang

After spending another few hours on a rickety old bus on some of the bumpiest roads in the world (not exaggerating..honest!) we arrive in Nha Trang. After the lovely night "sleeping" bus from Hoi An we arrived in Nha Trang nice and early and found ourselves a hotel room for a decent price. We then booked our diving for tomorrow with Coco Diving because the Frenchman in the was very friendly!

Reading Lonely Planet one would think that Nha Trang, Vietnam's most famous beach resort, would be a tropical paradise on the South China Sea. One would be wrong. The town was more like Myrtle Beach than Thailand, complete with a cable car that connected the main land to a theme park/water park island just off shore. Quick update from Nha Trang, as I'm not going to be here long. It's actually a great town, I can see the attraction here. Fab beach! I'd been missing the sea, because although I've been making my way down the coast, the towns I've stayed in have all been slightly inland, and this one is right on the beach.

It's so hot here, it's quite amazing. I don't cope well with this sort of heat :)

On our way to Nha Trang we met some lovely people, Helen, Steve, Mia and Andreas.

The first evening was spent checking in and finding somewhere to eat. Again need I say we found a nice restaurant where Sedge and Dave picked their own fish out of the tank.. (well nearly, we saw the fish, and let the waiting staff pick out the fish.... Sorry for the late reply and emails etc. Internet is pretty slow in Cambodia.. I've been in Vietnam now for about 8 days... What a place! The people are great, the food is THE BEST food I've ever tasted, and the coffee is perfect!
