It was one of those moments-- listening to someone strum on the guitar, driving through Thai country side with friends, it was so fun. Kristen and I were searching all road signs for an indication of highway 1089 towards Doi Mae Salong without any success. In fact most of the roadsigns that existed were in Thai script ...

Today, we visited the Princess Mother's garden. It was so beautiful! We learned all about what she did for the Hill People who were selling Opium and using up their natural resources, how she turned it all around and gave them a chance at a new life.
The children now have educational opportunities and the land is renewed. The people should be fully independent from governmental support in 2017.
