    ... of washing the riding kit was first priority as usual. Catching up with Skype calls and the blog was next. It is so easy to keep in touch these hi-tech days.     As Thailand is officially declared 'a state of emergency', I arrive in Khon Kaen. The city has a nice lake, monks everywhere and a busy market. In Thailand all the men are expected to spend at least a few months living as a monk. On a morning run, I pass a teenage monk holding a cigarette - so they don't all take the teaching to heart.
