So having endured a rather hairy lift on the back of a moped ,which must have been like travelling with giant haystacks on the back for the scooter steering man( due to all the socks in my rucksack if course, not my belly!!)we arrive at the retreat where everyone is very chatty and friendly with nobody quite sure what is ahead ( except the ones who had done it before of course). We dine on a shaded floating jetty watching the activity of the boats and promising to come ...

... separate space for our meals. The food was amazing and cooked fresh every day- in the thai traditions. There is something to be said for living like I did for these 7 days: no cell service, no wifi, electricity by generator and only from 6-9; 30. We had everything we needed, and then some. Waking up to the sound of the gibbons calling out to each other was so beautiful. I kayaked a few days, swam with Tina, who was a swimmer back in the day in England, took naps ...

... the first stop) I was pretty sick. Ross came to my rescue with a plastic bag (which unfortunately had a tiny hole in it). At the first stop we headed outside for fresh air. I stayed here for the rest of the trip (about another three hours). Koh Samui to Koh Pha Ngan wasn’t too bad as the islands are quite close together. However, the ride from Koh Pha Ngan to Koh Tao was the worst yet. Also, it ...
