    ... another family with a 17 month old daughter (riding in a pack!!) so the girls played with her, while her dad also braved the freezing depths. But it was WORTH IT! The falls were amazing. Along our hike back out, the girls noticed a Pika scrambling in the “Log Jam of Doom.” Apparently they are endangered because of global warming, and they can easily overheat in the summer.

    ... she stayed for hours. I let her out once and she came right back and collapsed again. She had been rubbing her eye and then licking her paw all morning. I finally was able to hold her head and look at her and found her eye closed and when I looked into it could not see the pupil, only black rough looking inside the eyelid.
