Wu Wei Se, Yunnan Province, China blummo... did end up beating him a couple times.
I struggled walking around touristy Old Town Dali the next day and was relieved to find a small German bakery serving delicious deli-style sandwiches including a chicken, brie and artichoke panini which I devoured with pleasure. Besides the old town style buildings and streets, there wasn't much else to do in Dali, so I decided to move on further north in Yunnan where tigers leap across gorges...

Er Yuan, Yunnan, China ozray... on our heads! By the end of the week we were no experts in kung-fu but we could definitely perform the first form by ourselves and also a qigong routine involving movement and regulated breathing designed to circulate the qi (energy) within our bodies. We have grown accustomed to the living conditions, the daily schedule and most of all - to the boys (the vegetarian food we loved from the start). And with ...
Dali, Yunnan, China gilliguy... I admit) and hit the hay in a fantastically comfortable room. Seriously, this is probably the nicest place we've ever stayed in China and would recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay while in Dali. The next day we woke to the sounds of some sort of loud truck, crowing rooster and braying dog competing outside our window, and headed toward town for a great breakfast at Cafe de Jack. We were a little late getting going on where we wanted to be because ...
Dali, Yunnan, China craignerin... at our rather snazzy guesthouse to a very comfortable double room and some eagerly anticipated Tsingtao beers. The laid back atmosphere made it a perfect place to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying doing nothing for once, so we apologise that this entry is a little bereft of events. Dali finds itself situated in a picturesque setting, sandwiched between the Canshang mountains and Erhai Hu ...
Dali, Yunnan, China emex... us that Dali exports most of its garlic crop to Korea, and we saw many huge trucks loaded with garlic traveling along the small roads. We also stopped in the small town of Wase at the northern tip of the lake, as we had mentioned to A Qing that we'd been looking for some of the beautiful Chinese tea mugs we had seen at our hotels that had lids to keep the tea warm, and that we had not been able to find any ...
Dali, China ttlhmcclelland... including a huge statue of Guanying, (the most worshipped Buddha in Yunnan and rare in the world as shes female!) which we would see in all the temples we visited. We had lunch on the island, which was cooked by this very old traditional Bai lady. I felt very peaceful, despite losing a close game of chess with Zhong. We headed back in a dreamy and happy fashion only to get a reality check when we saw the car in front run down a puppy. It was horrible to watch its life leak ...
