... I was still pretty exhausted and didn't have my head in the game the way I should have. I am sure that I will learn to stay closer to my camera in future ventures so I don't lose the memories of what makes all this travel so great.
... any of the ones I had remembered from my first visit but loved the window shopping! We then drove north to Daphne and Spanish Fort through good agricultural land that, until recently, was rapidly disappearing under a crop of houses. There are many subdivisions that have ground to a halt. The close proximity to Mobile AL really is putting pressure on this area. Then back to the RV park via Silverhill, the nearest hamlet and post office for the park ...
Silverhill, Alabama, United States momadunc... much above the mid fifties today - pleasant and sunny with a strong breeze out of the northwest. We stopped at the visitors center for the Gulf Islands National Seashore for lunch and a walk along the shore before continuing into Alabama, still on hwy 98. We did not see much of the shoreline in Alabama as the hwy is about a mile inland through agricultural land at this point. Our neighbor tonight tells us the beaches are even ...
Silverhill, Alabama, United States momadunc... mention the doll throws in apple butter and molassus sorghum with our warm rolls......ahhhh..... We were on our way and Foley has a few charming streets with antique shops and art galleries. We stopped in of course to the Stacey Rexall Drug Store and enjoyed a fantastic Key Lime Milkshake (with real limes). Big snowbird area- so we crashed a snowbird reception too- just to check things out and get a lay of the land. ....Although Im still ...
Foley, Alabama, United States moberts... The perfect cast iron pan may have had something to do with it too. We spent the morning doing nothing and enjoying it. The house was on Mobile Bay so we paddled a bit, kicked the sand, and played with Jimbo's dog. A fine Sunday morning. Mobile Bay is a pretty piece of water, which I very much enjoyed seeing for the first time. After lunch we had some dessert fresh off the tree, loaded up and began the next leg of the trip.
Mobile, Alabama, United States quietwaterfilms... to roll off. When we rolled the castle off, all parties involved in the door re-arrangement, parked just off the ferry having discussions. Gee wonder what was being said? We turned the opposite way to that path and drove to the RV park on the Island, about 300 metres down the road. No TV and no WIFI, with facilities that require some attention, but never the less a good spot. Water of the bay in view behinds us, and a short walk to the other ...
Dauphin Island, Alabama, United States popusa2008I also went to Gulf Shores with my friends family on vacation only this one was about 1000 times better then the last. The beach was really nice and there was a lot of things to do in the area. The only thing that I didn't like about the beach was the fish. I usually go to the Atlantic Ocean for vacations with my family and this was ...

Orange Beach, Alabama, United States lapetitegrande3... feed the sea gulls with little bit. They did and called us telling us that there was lots of cranes there. Well, we was in Foley already and turned around. I am glad they called because I did get some good pictures there. Like I said this trip was just too short. Our little sweetheart grand-baby was the best, sweetest little one on this trip! Thank You Father for a wonderful time with the kids.
Terry had planned to play golf at several of the Robert Trent Jones courses in Alabama, the first of which was near Foley. After his first game, he was driving around and he discovered an Alabama State Park a couple of miles away, at Gulf Shores. It was less than a half mile from the Gulf of Mexico coast and had a few lakes where he could fish, etc. I think he only played one more round of golf nearby and the rest of the time he fished. We had a nice camp spot about ...
