Sitting on the ginormous ferry to Koh Phi Phi. For 500 Baht each, we got a pick up from our hotel at 930 to catch the 1 1/2 ferry ride over to the Island. They are playing Avatar on the TVs on the boat: in English. The boat is full of tourists. As a matter of fact, everywhere we have gone so far is all tourists. We took a 7 am flight to the southern Thailand city of Krabi (1.5 hours), near Phuket, then a taxi to the ferry, then a 1 hour ferry to the waters in front of Koh Jum Island...then a long tail boat to our hotel beach! "Oonlee Bungalows"!!

The video of us getting on the long tail boat captures the moment..... ;)))

Lollll quite the trek! Really fun ...

After an afternoon on the beach, we then headed back into town in the evening for some food and a few drinks at one of ...

... caves in which people did appear to be living. The water all the way round was so clear which was reinforced when we stopped in one of the bays to do some snorkelling. Surrounded by mountains we hopped out and had a look around - whether it was the changing tide in the cove or the boats the visibility was limited here which was a shame. Vicky did however have the chance to see a shark swim by! The area is known for black tip reef sharks and although it was a baby one it still ...

... headed to a couple other hotels to pick up other people on our tour. We then headed for the pier, ready to set off. We got on a boat that looked quite similar to the one I took with the girls a couple weekends ago, then I walked inside. What a surprise... The good kind, not the credit card fraud kind. There was a beautiful little dining deck with polished wood and little tables with a full coffee and juice bar set up,,,,with cookies! Not having seen cookies in ...
