... visiting the towns, 3-4 hour train rides (with transfers) from Torino to Venice, water taxis (aka: boats) around Venice, 1.5 hour boat ride from Venice to airport. Needless to say, it was a whirlwind tour, and we traveled a LOT, but it was all worth it and I can’t believe how much we packed in to this trip. A lot of great memories.

Just a minor note, but the music was not what I expected. I was expecting “Italian” ...

    Meg's Reflections about Italia

Oh Italy. I loved it so much. I loved pretty much everything about it. Here are a few things I loved in particular:
    Family
Family is so important here. Many businesses we ate at, bought wine from, browsed products, or even just walked past were family run-and-owned for centuries. I've downloaded all of the TripAdvisor offline itineraries for Rome/Florence/Venice. I've downloaded CityMaps2Go ...

    I didn't need those jeans...

I also realized I had too many clothes packed/planned. The original idea was to do laundry and have 5-6 changes of clothing to wear. Except I ended up with 10 shirts, 3 shorts, 1 pair of jeans, 3 skirts, and 2 dresses. Too much.

After making some difficult decisions, I realized - I really didn't need jeans. It's supposed to be in the ...

    The packing challenge

Over the weekend we started the challenging job of packing for our 3 week vacation in multiple climates. Add to that the airline restrictions and it becomes a major puzzle. To play it safe we are taking 3 checked bags. Never done that before. Fortunately the airline allows us each 2 bags so we are good to go.

We're just about done however and we are ready (and excited) to go. Tomorrow ...
