... of them were wearing a bit thin.

We boarded a boat back to Krabi then took a ropey bus down to the port town of Satun (brilliant name!). This place was totally nondescript and had nothing to offer us apart from a bed for the night. After rejecting a hell hole of a hotel we settled on a nice little place called Om's Guesthouse and, bizarrely, into a good sized room with just one bunk bed in it. A two bed dorm?! Kristen instantly hated Ton Sai town because it is "such an eyesore for this beautiful island and had a very seedy and sketchy vibe." If we had stayed in Ton Sai our experience on Phi Phi would have been very different. However, Ton Sai didn't really bother me. I certainly didn't love it, I didn't hate it, but it didn't really surprise me either. In my mind, it was similar to a ...

... the beach to see if there was a way you could walk around to the next beach but the rocks were impassable. After my walk I head back to my bungalow to get settled in before heading out for dinner. The resorts next to mine all had nice restaurants with chairs on the beach so I walked to find out and literally the one next door was the one I ended up at as they had a seafood BBQ to choose from. I had a lounge type chair/table which was right on the beach and gave me a great view of ...
