We then drove to Perge, an ancient Greek city founded in approximately 1000 BC. It came to fame during the Roman rule and was one of the leading centers of Christianity. The Apostle Paul mentions it several times in his writings. The ruins show what must have been a fabulous city, complete with hot and cold baths, a sewer system, and a series of sales stalls.

... the Mediterranean. We know it will be a lot of fun to explore the area tomorrow. For tonight, we dropped off our luggage (we love our hotel) and walked down to a recommended sea food restaurant. The coastline is spectacular - very rocky with large cliffs dropping down to the ocean. We didn't get many pictures tonight because it was just turning dark. ... terrace cafe overlooking the Mediterranean. Slow is good! Finished the day off with another Turkish bath. This was an authentic one...not the tourist version! Not too different...except the first part in the sauna was MUCH hotter. Cleaned out my sinuses! Ahhhhhh! Oh- and we had a mud mask with it! ... so did everyone else who played him! It's hot and humid here. Rhonda is going to an archeological museum tomorrow with the group in the morning. I'm going to pass and just wander around the cobbled backstreets...and of course sleep in! We are doing another Turkish bath tomorrow night. That oughta clear some things out!
