... around for dive schools, (some offer accommodation with enrollment) we only booked one night with Taco Shack. As soon as we walked inside to check in, we could tell something was wrong. Apparently the Taco Shack was severely overbooked due to the internet on the island being down for 2 whole days prior to our arrival. Since we had only one night booked, we were all pretty low on the priority todem pole. The 4 of us that had arrived that day went ...

We walked quite far, and he made sure that we were not far behind. Stopping for a swim a bit of late avo sun, skippy took a liking to me. Eventually he got a bit bored and wandered off. ... to a small bay near where we were staying and spent hours just watching all the goings on under the water. We saw so many fish, it was like an episode of ‘The big blue’ and we could have stayed for ever, but believe it or not, the water got a bit chilly after a while! We don’t have an underwater camera but when we go again we will hire one and pop some photos up, it really was quite something.

Some useless information first - Koh Tao means Turtle Island and forms part of the Chumphon Archipelago on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand. It covers an area of about 21 kmē and its official population is 1,382 but doesn't take into account the 1000s of backpackers and tourists that flock here in it's main summer season.
The economy of the island is almost exclusively centred on tourism, especially scuba diving.
    Ko Tao was named ...
