... couple holding court in traditional gold lame' costumes. Some girls dressed in feathers and fur dancing provocatively to "Conga" on a jungle themed float. Flowers, flowers, and more flowers. (They even rolled a palm tree up the street on a dolly - you were supposed to take a silver aspen-type leaf from one of the beautiful girls, attach a bill to it and stick it in the trunk of the tree.) On one flatbed were several more of the ...
Rayong, Rayong, Thailand olsommer... it with all these little presents from toiletries to clothes that she had brought for me from Germany. So here I am getting my strength back, and having the most lovely relaxing time, with the love of family around me. Interestingly I was here at this resort having dinner two years ago just before I came home, I sat on the peer having the most amazing dinner with my friend Claudia and two other girls, reminiscing about our time. I looked at the room I am staying in now, and dreamt of ...
Ko Samet, Rayong, Thailand oniburger... island. We have lazed on the beach and snorkelled with fishies! We have a boat trip planned for tomorrow, and relaxing for the rest of the week! Hope everyone is well and thanks for your messages! Lots of love us x Ps Ben the dog may be interested to learn there are dogs everywhere here! But nearly all with fleas in tow. And Abi - I SAW DUCKS! x
Koh Samet, Thailand jon_gabby... don't like your beach, you can just keep walking to the next one. Two of the things that I find special about Ko Samed, are at night. As the sun sets and the water recedes, you'll see the beachfront transform. Many of the resorts will start to set up their restaurants right on the beach. At my favorite ones, that means they are putting down mats right on the sand, low tables and lots of pillows. So, you can sit (or lie) down and have dinner and drinks just steps from ...
Rayong, Thailand rupertkaufmann... it was that good. Other than the beaches, the bars and the restaurants (which aren't that great to be honest) there's very little to do here. Perfect for chilling out, yes, but activity wise there's next to nowt, so I'm doing one more night and then getting my **** over to Ko Chang where hopefully there'll be more to keep me entertained and off the booze. Oh, and I ate a coconut straight off the tree today and it was lovely. The simple things appear to be keeping me amused.
Ko Samet, Thailand --frank--... experience - well part of the time! Nelly had some dodgy goggles and snorkel, so she wasn't having a great time at first. She changed it and still no luck. So I offered mine...she was fine, but then it was me stuck with the dodgy snorkel....Anyhow, I went back to change it...still no luck. However as I was wading at the back of the boat I saw one of the hosts bring back some sort of coral/mussel type of thing, a good size of about four fists...He showed ...
Ko Samet, Thailand nellyandsime... as well, allowing them to travel abroad to Canada for language and activity programs. There certainly is a level of quality that each Assumption campus strives to maintain, but the schools still vary greatly from campus to campus. Assumption College Rayong (ACR) is supposedly one of the better schools to work for, which I'm sure affects the education that students receive. Staff morale is extremely high. The school ...
Rayong, Thailand mikeandjess... asked me how I was doing with noting my footsteps as I walked from place to place. I immediately responded that I had it down and it was no problem and I mentioned proudly that I even managed to note each step when I was just standing and shifting weight between my feet. Then I remembered that just that morning, while walking to breakfast, I had tried to concentrate on the sensation of my hand holding my umbrella because for some reason I kept forgetting to note ...
Koh Chang, Thailand alanf... balls in ginger soup) stand, as the girls will shout out our order before we get close to the cart. The food isn't what makes us happy though, although is certainly helps! The actual city is amazing. At night different streets come alive with temporary markets filled with fruits, vegetables and clothes. The city is situated on the beach, so we can enjoy a beer while watching the sunset any time we want. Due to our relaxed summer ...
Rayong, Thailand mikeandjessWe didn't get to go to Koh Chang this weekend as we had a lot of homework. We will be teaching 4 days next week so that's a lot of plans. So I went out this morning to Rayong, which is the next big city about 40 minutes by songtaew away. I first went to Tesco Lotus which I could swear is owned by Walmart - even the signs look the same. I spent a good deal of time there trying to learn the names of all these strange fruits and vegetables as Tesco Lotus is the only place ...
