... given a display of their power and hunting abilities. They were absolutely gorgeous birds and need support to complete their rehabilitation. If you’re in the area, drop in to The Eagle Experience and be amazed.
Knysna has been good to us and we leave feeling relaxed and ready for a new adventure. This one will be in the shape of Witsand (White Sand). We are edging ever closer to Cape Town but we still have a lot to see before then. See you on the beach.
... It was quite scenic and lovely and I saw a few creatures along the way. After the hike the guide took me around to other scenic points like The Heads (a coastal look out point), Leisure Island (a beautiful neighborhood with a lagoon and local shops and art galleries) and to other various points of interests throughout the town. I felt Knysa to be a beautiful and charming town but not worth spending more than a night or two at best ...
... Mr Watson.
Today, Friday had been a lovely day again. We are staying in a beautiful guest house in Knysna. This morning we have visited an elephant park where they look after orphaned elephants. We were up close and personal with these huge beasts! Feeding them with fruit and veg was a pretty messy business!
This afternoon we have walked miles along a beach beside the Indian Ocean. Fine to paddle but currents too stong to swim – well that's my excuse!
... but after getting on at Durban at 7.15 we were not very happy when we arrived at Port Elizabeth at 11pm in the fog. However we were very glad of the warm bed, and by 6.15 on Tuesday we were ready to start again on our way down to Knysna...although we got a bit worried when it didn't arrive due to a puncture! Knysna is stunning though. We have just come back from a 4 hour tour of the Featherbed Nature Reserve on the Western Head of Knysna ...
Knysna, South Africa becsandmichaelaLovely lovely wee hostel!! While here we went to the beach and had a picnic on the deserted white sand whilst whale watching. Yaowzaaa!! The following day we went to Monkeyland and saw loads of monkeys (ringtailed lemurs - very cool). And then to a bird sanctuary where a psycho pigeon kept attacking me and flying into my ...
Nature's Valley, South Africa taransay... I remember we went swimming in the lake. I was the same age as Kirsten, and Megan was younger. I didn't have a swimsuit at the time, so I had to borrow one from them!! I was so embarresed that Megan was younger than me by quite a few years, yet I fit into one of her bathing suits.
... had to go back through security to the check the pocket knife through. The plane was delayed for 2 hours so we waited in the lounge drinking coffee and writing post cards. We eventually arrived at Port Elizabeth at 1pm, collected our rental car which had doubled in price and headed out on the Garden Route towards Knysna. The Drakensberg Mountain range was on our right hand side as we drove down the coast. Our first ...
Knysna, South Africa sarahanddoug... a hiking trail and an army of ants. After finding an internet cafe in town, we were promptly kicked out at 1300 - everything, literally everything shuts down on the weekends in Plet Bay. But determined to keep you up-to-date, we walked the one hour to an internet cafe located on a map. It was, surprise, surprise, closed. Walking the hour back into town, we felt slightly defeated but finally found somewhere to eat (an almost guarantee to cheer you up.) With no public ...
