    ... elementary school a wedding reception was borrowing the play ground for a party later in the evening; All throughout our meal the sound system was being checked by playing traditional Greek music.     ... PM, cutting it too close for me to comfortably souvenir shop and mail stuff out. So at about 6:30 AM I booked it to Heraklion. My schedule is to stop on Santorini for a couple of hours--just to say I did, and because everyone will ask me if I did--then make the hop to Naxos, putting me "home" sometime this evening. That'll give me plenty of time tomorrow to souvenir shop and deliver authentic Naxian goods to America.

    ... and headed up the coast road, stopping at a couple of beaches on our way back to the hotel. The beaches were quite gravelly, with lots of pebbles, great little taverna, and the water was so warm it was like being in a bath. After the coolness of the waters in Santorini and Mykonos, it was exceptionally nice to get in and have a float about in the near-waveless water.
