      ... how easy it is for not so intrepid tourists to lose their way so she scared us into submission!

      Patmos is also apparently the holiday point of many of the rich and famous although the fašades of the houses are misleading. They come here for the peace and calm and go to Mykonos if they want to be seen!

      ... the narrow streets were designed to ward off pirates over the centuries. It is a magnificent UNESCO rated village and very beautiful. We were heading to the Monastery of St John the Beloved, a huge fortress-like building dating from the 11th century.       ... such a small island there isn't alot to do. So we swam in the pool, went out for lunch, went to the beach and then sometimes we would go back to the hotel for a rest. It was very hot in Leros.

      ... inlets and bays, it seems longer when driving around it. Up, down, spinnin' around... :-) There are gorgeous bays around every bend with crystal clear water and, as there are so many bays, it's easy to find one out of the wind. We hired a scooter for two days and Andrew dinked me around the island. We stopped wherever we wanted and swam, ate or just lazed to our hearts content.
