... look very nice for the few minutes that was clear.
We checked in at the hotel which is a traditional Japanese hotel with mats and no shoes in the room. It has it's own hot spring in the basement. We went for a nice soak. The hot spring pools are segregated and no clothes are allowed.
Dinner was traditional Japanese banquet called Kaiseki. It was more of an art display than a meal. Six courses later, we were full. Sake was great. ...

Once we get back to Gotemba traffic is lighter and we easily find our way back from there. Too bad we never got to see the pink moss fields, we had seen a lot of pictures with the moss in full bloom and Mount Fuji in the background and were really looking forward to seeing it in real life. We had a Japanese meal again but this time it was lots of fish and not just vegetarian like the temple we stayed in. It all came in loads of different dishes and seemed never ending. The Japanese have 3 springs a day when they come here. I guess it's their way of unwinding before the Tokyo ...
