... Surrounded by the intricate cake like laciness of marble sculpture we walked across the rooftops between the turrets. We took many more photos. After realising that time was now getting short we then rushed down to the stairs, caught the metro back the 4 stops to the Hotel Maddison and walked to 300m to the train station - that's why we booked accommodation close to the station! We made the train with 20 mins to spare so we bought a snack boarded and we were on our way to ...

In time for a late dinner in the restaurant next to the Ibis hotel we stayed at, and ...

    ... much to Oliver's delight.

We reached Como at about 5pm, and checked into our hotel. That left us time to walk down to the quay, have a drink at a cafe popular with the local sparrows, and wend our way to a delightful restaurant round the corner from the hotel. A short walk along the lakeside helped us to digest it all, before finishing with a bottle of wine watching the busy Saturday nightlife from our room's ...

... incase they missed their train, they could come to the hostel with us and book a bed. We caught the metro into central station and they had missed the last train by 2minutes! So we waited while they tried to get a refund, eventually they got sent all over the place so we headed to the hostel as it was almost 11pm, we finally checked in, realised we hadn't had dinner (nothing was open along the way) so we were left with what ever food ...
