... thought we were asking for a photocopier! We finally managed to find someone who spoke a little English and they sent us in the right direction to pick up the form. The process was then hilarious. You take your form to one counter, wait for 10 minutes, get it back, told to take it to another counter 6 feet away, wait, get it back and repeat about 50 times - surely that's what I pay my visa fee for ;) Finally we were told to come back in the morning!

Jakarta was a very boring city. It was dirty and busy, without any actual culture or interesting things to see. But we did stay there 4 days so here's a brief run down of what we did:

-The train from Jogja to Jakarta took 10 hours so we decided to pay for the executive class- fancier seats, free foods and gentle air con cooling you down. OF COURSE, the seats were horrible, we got offered meals and then had to pay for them and the air con was up so cold, we spent ...

From Jakarta I made my way through the island of Java, taking in flat rice growing plains, ancient ruins at Prambanan and Borobudur, and the old royal city of Solo.

Then caught the ferry to Bali. It's about 40 minutes' hop on the boat. Then enjoyed a beautiful bus ride along the coast. It's a stunning island with beautiful plants ...
