... I talk briefly with a receptionist in a Best Western hotel. She's actually quite interested to hear my story, and takes my email in case she knows anyone that needs a bit of work done in exchange for room and board. This is the only beacon of hope, in an otherwise very bleak situation.

I eventually find the Youth Hostel, and thoroughly abuse their complimentary internet service. We'll see what tomorrow holds.
Faro, Faro, Portugal jmckerricherIn Albufeira, we went to a Portugese bullfight, not the real deal as in they don't kill the bull, rather they stab them in the back with a bunch of arrows. I thought it was mean, especially the first bull because it was pretty much still a baby and looked scared instead of angry. Jon ...
Albufeira, Algarve, Portugal sofenjon... shuttle bus to catch to Gatwick North terminal as the bus number and stop number printed on the ticket was completely different again to reality. Luckily, there were Network Express (bus company) on hand to save the day, but even then they didn't seem to know what was occuring and seemed to make things up as they went along anyway. We made the BA flight from Gatwick with plenty of time to spare so that's the main thing.

Another thing, I will also never again ...
Faro, Algarve, Portugal pat_n_mel... was our first choice for somewhere to appreciate said coastline, possibly as we'd been drinking the local brew for the last few weeks and it's noted for its 'end of world feel' (the town not the beer) and inaccessibility (again, the town not...). It was the inaccessibility combined with our lack of time and a gentle reminder that we were on holiday not travelling, that made our mind up for us and we were soon on a high speed tilting train ...

Albufeira, Algarve, Portugal dovi... 1755). Faro oli looduslike jõude poolt täielikult maatasa tehtud.

Algarve piirkonna pealinnas käisime vaid korraks õhtul. Mulle jättis see nn piirkonna suurima linna kohta ikka väga väikse linna mulje.

Lähim korralik pood asus ilmselt Faros (22 km).
Quarteira, Algarve, Portugal pille... br>Samuti oli just Lagos see koht, kust 1578.a läks Dom Sebastião koos Portugali, Hispaania, Hollandi ja Saksa "õnneotsijatega" (ingl k buccaneer) Põhja-Aafrikat kristianiseerima. Milline kül oleks Aafrika täna ilma selle sündmuseta..?

Praeguseks oli jõgi suhteliselt kokku kuivanud, linn väsinud. Tegime seal väiksed tiirud vanalinnas, jõime (laste)kärarikkas kohvikus cappuccinot ja soetasime paar köögirätikut.
Tavira, Algarve, Portugal pilleChelsea and I slept in this morning and it was wonderful. We showered, drank some coffee, put on our bathingsuits and began our walk on down to the river. We took the long route so we could stop by Aladdin's for a sandwich, and we met some funny british men who have retired to mallorca. They were in town for the Betis/Mallorca futbol game, and were so cute singing their songs ...
