... get the car and move it over.

If you go to Siena, don’t enter through the fort. Apparently forts are not only designed to keep people out, but also in, so there weren’t any doors to let us get into the town. We backtracked out, and finally made our way in. We wandered the streets, and ended up in the Piazza do Campo, where they hold the Palio twice a year. I recommend you read up on the event, but needless to say, I’d love to be ...

... cute little restaurant for lunch and enjoyed some pasta and pizza from their stone pizza oven.

Amongst the Medieval architecture, we also managed to discover some of the Roman heritage of the city, such as the location of the original Roman forum and the Temple of Minerva. We caught a morning bus to Florence which gave us time to eat lunch, do laundry, grocery shop and prepare for Dany and Maria's arrival about 4 ...

We enjoyed our favorite meals in Orvieto as well. The best pizza we have had so far was at a little trattoria by the train station outside ...

The food is delicious here so we thought..."Why not learn how to prepare it ourselves?" We were introduced to a lovely Italian woman named Loretta who took us into her kitchen and showed us how to make pasta. Making pasta is simple, especially when you get help from an Italian chef! It was fun to help her make it and watch the process of putting together a typical pasta dish from this area. Loretta didn't speak much English but I ...
