Having spent a week on my mountain, it was time to do some longer and steeper walks again so it was back to Oberstdorf but this time avoiding waterfalls! Day 1 was spent on a flatter walk and on day 2 the only way was up! Although due to time constraints we came down by cable car which confused Lizzie! Surprisingly little ...

Finally, after one last tunnel, I pop out in a shallow narrow valley witha stream running next to it. Looks like I'm safe. There's a somewhat modern stone fortress pressed right against the cliff, guarding the way... and then... the grassy fields begin once again. I've ...

... research first before settling on the hostel, and wander around in the dark, using a map given to me by the tourism office in Prutz. Turns out the prices quoted on the map are a little different than the ones they give me at the door. Finally I figure the hostel is my best bet, so I head back across town to look for it. Turns out, I get my own cozy room, so it all ...
