... I checked out the Folk Museum which I found pretty average then moved on to the Asian Art Museum which was much more impressive. After that I checked out Canal City which is a mall that opened up in 1996. Not as impressive as it was at the time but not a bad place to kill some time while it rained. I'm however not one for shopping so traipsed back through the rain to the ...

... prayer at the shrine, though, was definitely more intensive than mine could ever be. Purifying rituals, scroll writing, and of course the difficult but rewarding prostrations necessary while in the Buddha's presence. Arrived in Fukuoka feeling really excited what lying ahead. Spent much time planning out all the driving routes, places to visit (villages, castles, volcano, gorges etc) and all the scenic locations i read about and of course all the wonderful accommodations with onsen.
Little did i expect what was in store for me not long after touching down in Fukuoka.

For our 3rd day in the cruise, we went down to Fukuoka, Japan as a stopover. It's just a province in Japan but I can see how beautiful and clean the city is. We got to try the some authentic Japanese food. And I must say, it's really good.

We only got to go down for a few hours, but will definitely go back to this place SOON! And hopefully in the city.
