Jalan Sultan Mahmud Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia, 20400, 9-622-2122
The weather today was beautiful, as it has been the whole week except for one rainstorm the day we arrived. From the moment I walked outside this morning it has been 70s-80s and sunny. I don't want to jinx our good luck, but the state education minister mentioned today that perhaps the rainy season is over. If this is true, the weather is supposed to get hot very soon. In Malaysia, there are only two seasons - musim hujan (rainy season) and musim panas (hot season). I am sitting on the porch ...
Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia greendolphin... see or hear anything. I woke continously throughout the night, my earphones were beginning to hurt my ears and the heat from keeping my head buried in my blanket (damned sure I wasn't going to feel anything either!) was begining to be unbearable, no way I was getting out to turn the fan up a notch though.

Daylight finally came and I woke exhausted but relieved. Luckily another room had now become available, at RM60 it ...

Terengganu, Malaysia desmond123It was nice to stop moving so much. The white sand made it even nicer. We spent almost a week sitting in the sun and diving, spotting turtles, sharks, rays, and loads of fishes. *megs later comments diving was of a similar quality to ...
Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Malaysia meg-kev... back to the first beach, found an OK-ish bungalow with great sea views, snorkelled off the three mini-beaches jsut round the corner, then went out and had some nice food on the beach. This was all OK, but we'd already decided to try out the big island the next day. Oh, by the way, the booze is very expensive on these islands, so we didn't drink for the whole time we were there. That's right - SIX WHOLE DAYS!
Perhentian Islands, Malaysia justinparry... Australia, so we had to get off. In the end Pierre, the owner of Maya and a nice bloke, managed to get us on a boat with a load of French which was already overloaded, and therefore set up for the worst boat journey we have had. The boat was small and low in the water, the driver was a nutter and halfway across the channel, a huge storm rolled over us. By the time we got off Jo couldn't unclench her fist from where she had been hanging on
Perhentian Islands, Malaysia joandjimTime to say goodbye to island paradise! Had to get a taxi to KT as we couldnt work out the buses.... Cost a bit less than a tenner which annoyed me, but then I thought that I pay that much to go 4 miles from Brighton to Portslade, so for a 120km trip it wasnt that bad! Made up for it with our room though - about 1 pound each. Cheapest yet!! Spent afternoon wandering around town, saw (and heard) a few mosques, went to the market and loitered around Chinatown. Not the most ...
Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia mothman... was so funny.... So concerned I'd miss it. It was sad to leave the girls as I had had a really good time travelling with them and would happily have continued on. I shared a taxi back to Kota Bahru and after a bite to eat tried to get another taxi. They tried to charge me a ridiculous amount and I wouldn't pay and they were all trying to charge it. I got so ****** off I got the bus and it cost a whole RM0.90... about 20cent.
Long Beach, Malaysia ainel... not a chance of me leaving this sweat riden, cockroach infested pit for a couple of hours...Well anyway off he toddled to get the bus, the way I saw it, I'd catch him up the next day, all i wanted was bed...After a few hours I was feeling a hell of a lot better so maybe I was gonna make it somewhere today after all... Anyway down stairs was Olivier and Novella , they were of to the Perinthian Islands for a bit of sun and sea, seemed like a good Idea ...
