After attempting to charge us extra for ac they must have felt bad and brought the remote up. No English meant some fun charades although am still unaware of some of what she meant. Great Buffett feed at the local hotel, got kicked out after drinking more than our share of beer, I don't think he understood when we said we were nzers. Great star gazing on the beach. A long way out from split was an fun adventure.

... Back to the house, a quick chat to our hosts and we were off to the beach. It is a nice walk through the back streets and then onto the esplanade. Being Saturday afternoon, the beach was packed with families - mainly mums and their children. As Robert says, the men sit with their mates all day talking, drinking coffee and not working!

The water was beautifully refreshing. It is still a little cool ...

... passed a beach area that was quite lengthy – and had many sections all with different colored umbrellas. We weren't sure of the name of the train stop, but we “guessed” that it was Falconara Maritime – we checked the train schedule and bought round trip tickets – actually it is only a nine-minute ride and 1.4 Euro per person each day – a real budget buster.

(Oops, we said on Thursday that it was our last train ...

... The water was chilly, but we had a great time. Jack started giving me a hot stone massage. I'm pretty sure that RMT is not going to be a career for him! We then headed back to the boat and slowly made our way back to Makarska. The kids were tired, and they asked if they could go downstairs to get out of the sun. The adults said sure, and we spent the next 30 minutes or so blissfully child-free. However, we then heard ...

After a quick shower and breaky we headed to the Diolecian's Palace to buy tickets and attend the walking tour we had attempted the previous evening. Unfortunately, we discovered that the number one TripAdvisor walking tour was not longer offered. So we settled for a walking tour with another agency. It was the most expensive, shortest and worst walking tour we had attended. Our tour guide was very difficult to hear and lacked some of ...

... left at 1800hours and took just under 2 hours to get there. This was a horrendous experience as it was ridiculously choppy and by the end we were both feeling queasy. Hvar town was stunning. Our air bnb apartment was high up a lot of steps which offered gorgeous views across the town including down towards the cathedral and across the valley. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the front of the town overlooking lots of ...
