A Day In The Life

... I got as much stuff as I could fit in the car and got out of there as quick as possible.

I then thought that I might as well stock up on a few snacks while I was in the mood for shopping. I went to a supermarket and started filling my trolley. It's funny how the cost adds up when you wander round those places. It didn't seem to worry me though and the bill became pretty steep, pretty quick.

All in all, it was a really ...

not what the name implies

... It was perfect! I am always on the lookout for a park where I can invite friends and family to come visit us during our RV lifestyle. This park does the trick. There is every style of camping including fabulous cabins! Great facilities for groups that want to get together and play and eat and talk. Not to mention a masters level golf course!! All this only 45 minutes from the Atlanta airport!!

Off to San Francisco and beyond!!

fastest Athens trip EVER

I wanted to spend more time in Athens, but because of all the problems going on, plans kind of got extremely disorganized and we went to Athens on a whim.

We basically ended up in a bar and grabbed dinner at The Grit (famous for vegetarian cuisine), while briefly cruising around town.

I felt sad and sentimental that I didn't get to tour it more, but then again I felt relief; I have another university to call my own, for I am also a NYU graduate. ;)
Hey y'all,

I tried to email everyone the pictures of my condo but AOL doesn't have enough storage space for the amount of pictures I took, so here they are!

In other news, I've applied to a few jobs and realized (again) that looking for a ...

Day 16 - Alabama to Georgia

... the whole way back. We even coordinated our stops very well. We were back in Atlanta at 5 pm - but luckily not too much traffic. We stopped at the new Barrow Publix for some dinner and milk. The kids got to play with the neighbors while we unloaded the car.

Whew!
Athens Georgia

Picked up car from Atlanta airport on 15th April and drove around the outskirts of Atlanta during rush hour. It took about an hour to get to Athens. We explored the town, after Julie had her one and only driving on the wrong side of the road experience of the trip! Locals were laughing!

We went to a Belgian restaurant for soup and beer in the Athens downtown that looked like it hadn't changed much since the 1950s.

On the 16th April we visited the Georgia ...

Correction. wrap up recap update

So Jay, my co pilot on this trip read my blog & said I got the end wrong. Namely the part about how much Jay drove on the way home(I think he drove more than half way home) AND the part where I say we road through OH. I must have been high when I wrote that since our trip didnt even take us through OH. Duh! I did just do a little road trip to Clio, AL & back for some old Beemers. Pulled them out of some old guys shed. that was just a day trip. fun though.

Making our way across Georgia

... than salt water, that would have really damaged the motor, etc. We continued to the Atlanta area, where we had the satellite problem repaired and also had the outboard motor (that had been flooded when Terry swamped his boat) serviced. We stayed the first night at a WalMart Supercenter and the next two nights at a nice park near the repair shop that fixed the satellite. We were parked right next to a lake, but Terry didn't catch anything worthwhile. We ...

Athens and Roswell, Georgia

... around Athens, a beautiful older Georgia City with a major Georgia University campus. We saw large old plantation homes, the downtown and the university campus (35,000 students). Thursday morning, January 12, we enjoyed a light breakfast with Terry and his family and drove 2.5 hours to Roswell, north of Atlanta, to visit with Barbara's nephew, Ben (younger son of sister Donna), his wife Leigh and daughter Chloe in their apartment at a privately run townhouse ...

Backtrack and the green stuff

... there would be like. Unfortunately, I got into town on a football weekend so all of the hotels were booked. The ones that did have vacancy had high prices for even the smallest rooms. I guess I would have to do the old sleep in the car thing again. This was something that I wasn't looking forward to. It was a little chilly and my back was starting to hurt from sleeping in my car for a few nights in a row in Atlanta. I decided to try ...
